Foundation Board

Liliana Andriani opened Angel Jewelers in the city of Rancho Cucamonga in 1989 and has been serving this community ever since. Her commitment and dedication have allowed her to stay in business for decades, but she says her business serves as the platform for her to do what brings the deepest reward and fulfillment which is giving back to the community. Mrs. Andriani has an associate business degree from Chaffey College and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of La Verne. She invests time and effort in supporting organizations that promote economic growth in the community, and in particular, small businesses. She is an active business advocate in the City of Rancho Cucamonga and served as President Chairwoman of the Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce in 2020. She currently serves on the Boards of the Chaffey College Foundation and The Inland Empire Community Foundation (IECF). She is a supportive member of the National Latina Business Women Association – Inland Empire chapter. She is also actively involved with the Hope Through Housing Foundation and is on the Steering Committee for the Women of Hope. Other organizations that she supports are Children’s Fund, the San Bernardino County Museum Association, San Antonio Hospital Foundation’s Ladies Legacy and Growing Pains.

John Chapman is the President & CEO of San Antonio Regional Hospital. John has demonstrated a strong passion for promoting teamwork, collaboration, and leveraging innovation to achieve operational excellence.

Mr. Chapman is a clinical microbiologist by training and has served as an experienced hospital executive for over a decade. Prior to arriving at San Antonio, he served as Chief Operations/Administrative Officer at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California. John was not only in charge of operations at this 169-bed general acute care hospital but also led the clinical and support services for the Alameda Health System. Some of his accomplishments included Alameda’s accreditation as a Level 1 Trauma Center, a Baby Friendly designation and the construction of a 9-story patient tower. Prior to joining the Alameda Health System, John served as Executive Director of Clinical Services, Director of Laboratory Services, and held other positions at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. In these roles, among other things, he served as the director of the medical center’s service lines including its Orthopedic Institute and Heart and Vascular Institute. He also led a variety of strategic planning processes and system-wide operational initiatives.

Mr. Chapman earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of California – Berkeley and a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix. He is also Lean Six Sigma certified. Mr. Chapman is a member of the San Antonio Hospital Foundation Frances Mary Paul Circle.

Celia Chu is a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Town and Country in Claremont and one of only a few holding the “Global Luxury” title. She is consistently the top producer in the office and has more than 35 years of real estate/lending and banking experience. Celia and her husband Perry Chu, a Physician, are members of the Frances Mary Paul Circle and have been local residents since he started practice over 31 years ago at SARH. They have three children who were all born at SARH, went to school locally, and two of which even completed their undergraduate education locally at the Claremont Colleges. Mrs. Chu served as the Vice President of the Webb Affiliates of the Webb Schools of California where her children went to high school and is currently on the Webb Schools Parent Alumni Board of Directors. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Business Administration/Finance and started her career as a Personal Banking Officer for Wells Fargo before becoming a Loan Agent for Home Savings of America, then went on to become a Realtor in 1994. Needless to say, she knows the business from the ground up. Celia is a native Californian who grew up in Los Angeles and currently lives with her husband in Claremont.

Dr. Dang grew up in the San Gabriel Valley and earned a B.S. in Biology and Biochemistry at the California State University, Los Angeles; medical training at the University of California, San Diego; completed an internal medicine internship at the University of California, Irvine; and a 4-year residency in Radiology at Ohio State University where he subsequently completed a fellowship in MRI and bone and joint imaging. He joined San Antonio’s medical staff in 2009 and has served on numerous committees, including Chair of the Department of Radiology.

Claire was born in New Jersey and spent much of her early professional life on the East Coast, specifically New York, where she was involved in the world of investment banking and internet entrepreneurship. After moving here in 2008, Claire took over as administrator of her father-in-law’s busy medical practice, Nicolaas Grobler, Sr. who at the time was a family practice physician in the local area for over 25 years. She was personally touched by the excellent care she received at San Antonio during the birth of their youngest daughter, Megan and most recently for her mother, who suffered from a heart attack. From the emergency room to the CATH lab, she knows her life was saved due to the excellent care received at San Antonio Regional Hospital. In her professional life, for close to ten years, Claire was the owner and operator of All Saints Hospice. Working closing with SARH, Claire was able to transition patients home from the hospital to home hospice seamlessly. Most recently Claire has embarked on a new journey with her husband, Dr. Grobler, and opened Enhance Wellness & Aesthetics. She and her husband are dedicated to servicing those in the community with advanced technologies in self-care, aesthetics and wellbeing. Claire and her husband live in Rancho Cucamonga with their four young children, who she calls their “greatest gift in life.” When they aren’t working, they enjoy traveling and introducing the children to new places and adventures. Claire is a board member of the San Antonio Hospital Foundation; SARH Fall Celebration Chair; member of the Ladies Legacy Initiative and the Frances Mary Paul Circle.

Mr. Hsu has served on the Foundation Board as the hospital’s CFO since 2012. Mr. Hsu has extensive experience in hospital finance, having been a CFO at both stand-alone hospitals and healthcare systems. Previously, he was the CFO at the 357-bed Seton Medical Center in northern California. He is a member of the San Antonio Hospital Foundation Frances Mary Paul Circle. Mr. Hsu is married with three children.

James is a banker with over 30 years of commercial real estate/construction lending and management experience. He is currently Portfolio Manager, Commercial Real Estate Finance, at Mechanics Bank. Previously he was the Vice President in the Real Estate Industries Group at Rabobank, N.A., in Ontario. From 1996 to 2008, he spent his career at PFF Bank & Trust in Rancho Cucamonga, becoming Senior Vice President and Major Commercial Loan Manager. In 2008, he joined U.S. Bank in Rancho Cucamonga as Vice President, Special Loan Workout Manager, and joined Mutual of Omaha Bank in Pasadena in 2012. Mr. Milhiser was born at San Antonio Community Hospital and has been involved in the community his entire life. He is currently serving a 4-year term as Treasurer for the City of Ontario. James has sat on a number of boards, including the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Ontario Corp, the Building Industry Association, and the Ontario Montclair YMCA, among others. From 2004-2012, James was also a very active member of our own San Antonio Regional Hospital Board of Trustees, serving as Chairman of the Board from 2009-2012. He is also a member of the San Antonio Hospital Foundation Frances Mary Paul Circle.

Soo J. Myland is Of Counsel at MMZ LAW, A Professional Corporation, in Claremont, where she practices in the areas of estate planning and wealth preservation, business succession planning, special needs planning, Medi-Cal asset protection planning, trust administration, probate, conservatorships, and guardianships. She also owns and operates a multi-service dog care facility in Rancho Cucamonga. Ms. Myland graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature with a concentration in Shakespeare Studies. She received her Juris Doctorate from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri. Ms. Myland began her law career in Riverside, California at regional firms, Best Best & Krieger LLP and Varner & Brandt LLP. Ms. Myland has been involved with a number of community, professional and philanthropic organizations and has served as a Board Member for the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care Foundation, a member of the Executive Advisory Council for Inland Empire United Way, Women United, the Fontana Police K-9 Pals, the Executive Advisory Council for the Community Foundation for Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, as well as the San Bernardino County and Pomona Valley Estate Planning Councils.

Marco Robles is a long-time resident and local leader in the Inland Empire. He was formerly the Public Affairs Director with Cardenas Markets in Ontario and was frequently the lead employee and spokesperson for the company as they grew into new markets in Nevada and California. He has also served as a City Council member and Mayor for Pomona. Marco was very active in a number of community organizations and non-profits. He has served on the Inland Empire Economic Partnership, Inland Empire Hispanic Leadership Council, Ontario-Montclair School District Board, Promise Scholar Board, and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce Board.

Cathy Rockwell is a California native and a longtime resident of Rancho Cucamonga. A member of the San Antonio Society Executive Committee for over 13 years, Mrs. Rockwell now serves on the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Although she works part-time as an Insurance Producer for Hay Insurance, her life is mostly spent serving our local community. She is an active member of the Assistance League of Pomona Valley, and also serves on the Board as Treasurer of Friends of the Upland Public Library. Her love for serving others extends to her other work as Charity Golf Tournament Event Planner working for The Mulligan Man.

Sue is a retired community college athletic administrator, professor, and coach working primarily in the Sacramento area. In 2018, she moved to Upland to be closer to family. Over her professional career, she coached both women’s and men’s volleyball, swimming, tennis, and golf. Being an avid golfer, she spends much of her time at Red Hill Country Club and is fortunate enough to live on the golf course. In addition to her passion for golf, she loves spending time with her family, traveling, walking her dog Angel, and visiting with friends.

Sue’s great grandmother was Frances Mary Paul, the first benefactor of the existing San Antonio Regional Hospital. Her Great Grandmother’s contributions to San Antonio Hospital have been an inspiration to the entire family. Her mother Margaret Paul Scott, her aunt Frances Paul Randau, her sister Deborah Scott-Toux and herself, have all entered the Frances Mary Paul Circle. It is an honor for her to carry on that legacy by serving on the Foundation Board.

Jim Stillinger is President of San Antonio Regional Hospital Volunteer Services. Jim was born in nearby Pomona, California and save a number of absent years during military service he has never considered a permanent relocation elsewhere. Subsequent to review of his unique background and preference for the outdoors, in March, 2013 the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program, West Valley (RSVP) actively recruited and recommended him to SARH Volunteer Services specifically to drive and assist in development of the Hospital’s parking lot shuttle program. In 2015 Jim was elevated to Chairperson-Shuttle Drivers. In calendar year 2019, program Drivers assisted in excess of 46,500 passengers. Concurrently with his service with SARH, Jim has also voluntarily hosted and facilitated weekly open Cognitive Behavior Modification Training discussions at the Union Station Homeless Shelter Adult Center, Pasadena (3 years), participated as a volunteer within the Transitional Living and Children’s Services Centers at Casa Colina, Pomona (6 years) and achieved prominence in his volunteer role with B.R.A.K.E.S. advanced hands-on defensive safe driving school for teen agers (10 years).

Michelle brings over 30 years of strategic leadership experience in healthcare and university philanthropy. Previously, she was the CEO for Emanate Health Foundation. Michelle has a successful track record in building donor relationships, fundraising, major campaigns, and assuring a diverse Foundation Board that represents the communities served. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration at Cal Poly Pomona, and her master’s degree in leadership and management at the University of La Verne. She is an active member of many business organizations and has served as a volunteer on several nonprofit boards. Michelle is a member of the San Antonio Hospital Foundation Ladies Legacy Initiative and the Frances Mary Paul Circle.

Arif Taj holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Karachi University, Pakistan and a Program Management Certification from Caltech Pasadena. After serving Unisys Corporation for 27 years as a program manager, he retired in 2007. For the last 15 years Mr. Taj has served as president of Shear Blitz/Trim Team Ventures Inc., operating several SportClips stores throughout the area. He and his wife have lived in the area for over twenty-five years and have three children.

Mr. Taj is a current board member of the Upland Chamber of Commerce, past board member of the Glendora Chamber of Commerce and past board member of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the SportClips Team Leader Advisory Council and is a past member of the Unisys Unipro University. Mr. Taj’s many awards and recognitions include Small Business of the Year, 41st Assembly District – 2017, Team Leader of the Year, SportClips – 2018, Heart of the Champion SportClips – 2019, and Most Valuable Member BNI 2012, Inland Empire.

Amy was born in Glendale and grew up in East Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley. She attended Charter Oak High School and then went on to get her education in Political Science/International Relations at UCLA. She also spent time at the University of London and University of La Verne. Amy and her husband Erik have two children. Amy serves on the Upland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, is an active member of the Upland Rotary Club, and has been honored as Business Person of the Year by the Chamber. Amy is a partner in a mortgage service business based in downtown Upland. Amy knows San Antonio well, supporting her mother while a patient at San Antonio battling lung cancer. She knows and appreciates the care and services that are provided here at San Antonio and is anxious to be of service to the Foundation.

Dr. Nedra Vincent has been part of the Emergency Department Staff at San Antonio since 1988. She grew up in Southern California and attended Cal Poly Pomona receiving her Bachelor of Science degree. Then she attended medical school at Loma Linda University. Dr. Vincent is a member of the faculty at Loma Linda, a member of various committees including Behavioral Health, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Quality Management, and Emergency. She and her husband, Dr. Terry Lepper, DVM, live in Claremont and are very active in supporting the Hospital Foundation. They both have been very active in local organizations, especially Rotary.
